Time Out Together is an exciting new project that works with parents and children from local primary schools to help them research and organise days out for themselves. All the sessions and trips out are FREE to the participants. Those taking part will be assessing venues on their suitability and interest, making a display and information for the school. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a radio broadcast on 90.1 Hope FM, Bournemouth's FIRST community radio station. The project is run by Bournemouth & Poole College in partnership with 90.1 Hope FM (Bournemouth YMCA) and is funded by The Big Lottery Fund. For more information or details of how YOUR school can become involved contact Jacky Lindley on 01202 205903 or see the contact page. You could also approach the Head Teacher of your school.

Families get BIG backing to learn together The award comes from BIG’s Family Learning programme, which helps parents understand more about how their children learn and encourages adults and children to learn as a family. Mark Cotton, Big Lottery Fund Head of Region for the South West, said: “This project is about encouraging families to enjoy spending time together and helping parents to see how they can make learning fun. By doing something a bit different and sharing new experiences with their children they will become more confident as parents, and the positive effect on their relationship will be felt for years to come.” The Bournemouth and Poole College receives funding to deliver its ‘Time Out Together’ project, which will work with parents and children from local primary schools to help them spend quality time with one another and enjoy learning together. |
